Real Estate - "Uncomplicating the Complicated in All Aspects of Property Ownership." Real estate law is the area of law that covers rights to use, possess, and enjoy land and manmade structures on the land. This area includes the different types of interest you may have in a property, as well as relationships between owners, the community, landlords, and tenants. Spinks Law Firm has the experience to consult with you and ensure your interests in property are fairly represented and asserted.

Real estate transactions include the purchase, sale, and lease of property. Transactions can be complicated, and there are many different reasons for buying, selling, or making other changes to your property. Spinks Law Firm has the resources and experience to facilitate and execute transactions, thus helping you complete and optimize your real estate goals.

Trusts & Estates - Trusts and estates is the wide body of law that includes complex issues of estate planning, wills, guardianship, estate and trust administration, and estate gifts. A trust is an entity created to protect, manage, or preserve a person’s assets. It can be used to distribute income to beneficiaries. Trusts may take effect during a person’s life or after death. A ‘trustee’ is the person who manages the trust. An estate is the entity that reports income after an individual has died.

  • Estate planning – We can help eliminate uncertainties about the disposal of an estate and can provide wills, trusts, or other documents to preserve assets and achieve preservation and tax goals.
  • Estate and Trust Administration – We can help representatives carry out and facilitate the legal duties to beneficiaries, creditors, and taxing authorities.
  • Guardianship – We represent the interests of incapacitated people, including the elderly and children.

Disability Benefits – Disability benefits are designed to protect people who cannot work or are limited in their capacity to work due to a health condition. They are:

  • Social Security - The Social Security Administration pays disability benefits through two programs: the Social Security Disability Insurance program and the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program. You should apply for benefits as soon as you become disabled because it takes a long time to process the application. The Social Security website estimates it can take 3 – 5 months for the initial decision. An initial denial does not necessarily mean the applicant is not entitled to benefits. Spinks Law Firm has experience representing people in the application and appeals process with resources dedicated to recovering benefits for clients.
  • Special Needs – In addition to Social Security benefits, there are a number of Federal, State and local benefits for children with special needs.
  • Veterans Benefits - We have experience navigating the Department of Veteran Affairs system to appeal benefit claims that veterans have earned through military service.
